The True Cost of False Alarms

If you have ever had a false alarm, you know the personal stress it has caused you – needlessly worrying about the safety of your property and the inconvenience of having to sort out the problem, as well as the frustration of the time spent dealing with an issue that actually wasn’t even an issue at all. If a false alarm results in a call to the police or other emergency services, it isn’t just the time and money of the emergency services that will be wasted - it could also now result in a fine for your business.  Police responses to false alarms cause thousands of dollars, wasted materials and resources that could have been used to respond to genuine emergencies. This can be easily avoided, especially when considering that some of the most common reasons a false alarm is due to human error, improper installation and faulty equipment. Police forces are clamping...

Why Remote Security is Better than Conventional Alarms

Technology has changed many aspects of our lives in recent years and that’s no different for the security of your business. Remote video monitoring provides huge benefits for business and property owners when compared with conventional alarm systems. Conventional CCTV cameras, which are still widely used, merely record what’s going on. Sometimes these cameras are even watched by expensive on-site security guards that can barely keep their eyes open during their shift.  Most of these systems don’t have a human watching them live and are only good for viewing crimes, such as theft and vandalism, after the incident has happened. By then it’s too late, the damage has already been done. To make matters even worse, police are generally hesitant to dispatch officers to conventional alarms as they know most conventional alarms that go off are usually just false alarms. In fact, most criminals know that if the police do bother showing up to a...

    Keep Your Warehouse Secure

Are you the owner or manager of a warehouse, distribution center or manufacturing company? Are you concerned about the security of your facility when it comes to both external and internal theft? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then it’s probably about time you updated your warehouse security. The fact is, warehouses and distribution centers pose unique challenges that traditional security systems simply do not have the ability to address.  The large size and complex layout of warehouses, distribution centers and manufacturing facilities means the inventory of these businesses are vulnerable to not only external threats such as a break-in, but also internal threats such as employee theft. Here are three ways to increase the security of your warehouse or distribution center: Verified security A conventional alarm system simply will not be able to completely secure your warehouse, and that’s not even looking at the high false alarm rates of a traditional alarm...

Authenticate Security Breaches with VERIFIED Alarms

With conventional alarm systems, you are unable to verify what is causing your alarm to go off without first going to the property. As a result, you will not know what level of attention is needed to correct the issue. Conventional alarms are simply nowhere near as good as a verified security solution.  Is it something that can wait until tomorrow? Maybe a motion sensor being triggered by a balloon that got left behind after an office party? Do you need to return to the office to secure a door that was not properly closed? Do you need to have the police search the property for an intruder? There’s a high chance with a conventional alarm system most business owners will send employees to respond to an alarm - this is dangerous. What will they do if they find a criminal on the premise and what happens if the employee is injured or worse?...
