Sonitrol Security Salutes Vineland Police Department
Joe Allen, Vice-President, Owner, Sonitrol Security of Delaware Valley, commended the Vineland Police Department for its response to a Christmas morning burglary of an area business at an Awards Ceremony on February 4, 2014.
The incident occurred at the U Save Outlet on Park Avenue around 6:00 AM, according to police.
A Sonitrol Security operator received an audio alert from the store when the burglary took place, according to a letter from the company, and heard glass breaking.
The operator then contacted Vineland Police Department and kept them informed of movement she heard in the outlet store, the letter indicated.
At the behest of the police department, the operator then contacted the store owner of the break-in and instructed him to meet police at the scene.
Over the audio feed, the operator heard the arrest of a suspect by the Vineland Police Department’s K-9 unit.
Oscar Gomez-Rodriguez, 20, of Cornell Street, was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, theft and possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
He was held in the Cumberland County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The letter from Joe Allen of Sonitrol Security of Delaware Valley specifically thanked officers Dwight Adams, Steve McKeon, Joseph Cooper, Christopher Ortiz, Daniel Latorre, Scott O’Neill, Sgt. Aaron Smith, Detective Michael Perez, dispatcher Eddie Santiago and police dog Carlos for the arrest.
