Michael Smith of the Greater Newark Economic Development Partnership was the featured speaker at the January 8, 2014 CIRC/DE luncheon.

The first event of the year also featured remarks from John Pastore, Director of International Trade for the State of Delaware and Continuing Education classes for members.

Michael provided an overview of the Greater Newark Economic Development Partnership and invited CIRC/DE members to the “Real Estate & The Economy – Building Your Community for the Future” conference on January 23, 2014. The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites in Newark from 8:00 AM until 12:00 Noon (including a continental breakfast from 8:00 to 8:30 AM).
CIRC/DE members were offered a discounted fee of $50 (regularly $75) to hear remarks from Steven Pedigo of Richard Florida’s World Renowned Creative Class Group. A distinguished panel of experts including Paul Harney, Perkins + Will, Charlie Dilks, Wexford Science and Technology, and Thomas Stringer, Ryan Inc. will also be participating.

CIRC/DE sponsored classes were held at the Clarion Belle in conjunction with the January 8 luncheon. Classes will also be offered at the March 12 luncheon. January 8 classes featured Delaware MODs 5 & 3 (Understanding Bankruptcy & Contracts: Formation and Terms). The March 12 classes will offer Delaware MODs 7 & 6 (R.E. Hot Buttons & Charitable Giving in Real Estate).
