What’s The Difference Between a Sonitrol Security Verified Alarm and All the Others?

The easiest way for me to highlight the difference between a Sonitrol Security Verified Alarm system and one of the hundreds of conventional burglar alarm systems out there is to walk you through a typical scenario around what happens when an alarm goes off in your business.

Let’s say you have a conventional alarm installed for your business. It’s nothing special but you think you have a system that can adequately protect your business.

This is what most likely happens.

It’s 2:00 am on Friday night and couple of burglars break into your business. It wasn’t difficult for them to get in using just a crowbar at the door, or a rock through the window.

It’s worth noting here that our professional thieves (who represent just 4% of the criminal community – commit 80% of crimes) have successfully done this before and they know they will easily got away with it. Vandals and idiots also do this for kicks, they find it something exciting to do after a night out drinking at a local bar. They also know the risk of getting caught is low.

Your alarm company detects a break-in if the criminals trip a door contact or motion sensor … but only after they’re already inside your premises … if the alarm was tripped at all … professional thieves usually know how to beat traditional door contacts and motion sensors alarms, so they don’t present a any kind of challenge to them.

Your alarm company isn’t quite sure whats happening yet, is it the wind, an animal or an employee setting off the alarm?

The night operator who may be monitoring as many as 15,000 security systems simultaneously then calls your business to see if anyone will answer the phone. Most criminals don’t pick up your phone. The monitoring station then begins phoning the call list for your account and they get in touch with you at home in bed. You might be glad your mobile phone didn’t run out of battery power that night.

The operator asks you what you think they should do next. You’re half asleep and you ask their expert opinion, so the operator says you should visit your business and check that it’s okay. At this point you must decide if you want to risk the ‘Police False Alarm’ fine, or drive down to your business in the wee hours to see if the bad guys are still there, or were ever there.

Meanwhile, the professional bad guys are collecting everything valuable (phone system, computers, fork trucks, inventory) and as they’re also vandals and idiots, they’re trashing a few computers, overturning a couple of desks, kicking in the walls, smashing windows, driving fork trucks into equipment, and spray painting your walls.

If you do make the late night drive with your kid’s baseball bat, it will probably be 30-60 minutes later before you get to your business location. You arrive and you slowly creep into your store or office with your baseball bat to find it’s totally trashed with some valuable stuff stolen. You have to then call 911 and tell the Police what’s happened. And there’s know-one around to help you until the Police arrive and they say they may not be able to catch the criminals.  They also tell you to get a verified alarm installed to prevent this from happening again.  Worse you arrive and get the #$@! kicked out of you by the thieves or vandals … hopefully you live but no one wants to leave a witness.

So you’re thinking – but I had an alarm system that was supposed to adequate – what went wrong. And what’s so different about verified alarms?

If your conventional alarm service has a security guard option – then you may choose the security guard to cover you and show up at your business instead of you. However, it’s worth noting here that standard security guard response times tend to be slow (at best 15 to 60 minutes) as they have very few guards in cars covering the whole city, busy nights responding to break-ins with broken windows and doors (that they cannot leave unprotected so they can’t respond to the next call), and in most cases, they don’t want to put themselves at personal risk to actually catch the criminals because they want to go home at the end of their shift – rather than get the $%#! kicked out of them for $12-$15/hr.

The result of your conventional alarm experience is that your business was not protected – it had valuables stolen, it was trashed, and the criminals got away with everything, and will likely never be caught.

As you don’t want this horrible experience to ever happen again, you decide to take the advice from the Police and call Sonitrol Security of Delaware Valley to get a free assessment for a verified alarm system.

YOUR ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS A SONITROL SECURITY VERIFIED ALARM SYSTEM

Every day we receive calls from businesses who have just been broken into or experienced an armed robbery and had their valuable goods stolen, their premises vandalized or worse their employees terrorized by an armed robber.

Because their conventional alarm did not work, they want to change their conventional alarm system immediately and move up to a Verified Security system that really works to prevent criminals from theft and vandalism.

The peace of mind that you get with Sonitrol Security is that we make the security decision for you!

A Verified Security System is based on us listening and/or watching what is going on inside and/or outside your facility – in real time.

We know when someone is breaking into your business just as they are attempting to gain entry – not later when they’re already inside and likely on their way out.  Our professional operators can listen into and see your business with special audio and video technologies that get triggered as soon as an attempt on entry is made. With our active audio our operator will know immediately that a crime is in progress and someone is trying to use a crowbar to open the door, or punching a hole in your window, wall, or roof.

So we call the police immediately.

Our average response time with Police cars to the door of your business in North America is just 3.5 minutes. When the Police arrive they have a live link to the Sonitrol monitoring station so the operator can prepare them for whats inside and they can call back up to cover all the exits. At this point the Police are motivated to catch the criminals.

That is why Sonitrol Security is known as the security company that helps catch criminals. Since 1977, with our Police partnership we have assisted the Police with the capture of over 172,000 apprehensions and counting – that’s a lot of criminals caught!

Because we only use verified alarm technologies we are rated a Priority 1 dispatch by the Police. Conventional alarms have a 97% false alarm record and are usually a Priority 8 response – If they have not initiated a verified only response policy which most cities have initiated … how on earth can they afford to send police to calls 97% of which are a total waste of time!

Therefore Verified Sonitrol Security systems are regarded by law enforcement as the best and as witnessed events because we can provide police with verified intelligent information. Our technology makes it safer for you, your business, your employees and also for law enforcement personnel.

    If you’re a business with a non-verified conventional alarm – you’re not secure.

It might be time to switch over to a Sonitrol Security Verified and guaranteed alarm system that will truly do the job for you.
