3 Ways Security Access Control Systems Can Stop Shoplifters Dead in Their Tracks

3. Make it obvious: This is an extension of the previous steps, but can add a lot of weight to security access control systems. Putting up signage to warn burglars of both the card access systems and any video surveillance should act as repellent for thieves. This will likely stop them dead in their tracks, and prevent any employee theft or shoplifting before it is even attempted.

While it’s important to have trust in your employees and customers so as to radiate an atmosphere of positivism, precautions should always be taken. Approximately 83% of convicted burglars have reported that they would attempt to determine the existence of an alarm before committing the crime, and 50% of impulse intruders would stop in their tracks if they discovered one.

This is equally effective for outside intruders as it is for employees and shoplifters. A reliable business security system may be the only thing protecting your inventory and sensitive information.
